Teletraffic Characteristics of Mobile Packet Communication Networks Considering Self-Similarity in Terminal Cell Dwell Time
نویسنده
چکیده
Teletraffic characteristics of a mobile packet communication network, which supports mobile Internet, were quantitatively evaluated by using a terminal migration model in which the cell dwell time possesses self-similarity. I used a migration model in which the migration speed of the terminal is determined by the density of the dwell terminals in a cell (determined from measured vehicular mobility characteristics). The transmission rates per terminal in a cell were estimated as teletraffic on the mobile packet communication networks using this migration model. I found that when there is self-similarity in the terminal cell dwell time, communicating terminals may be concentrated in the cell and restricted for an indefinite period of time to using only a narrow bandwidth. key words: teletraÆc, self-similarity, mobile Internet, cell dwell

A model for teletraffic performance and channel holding time characterization in wireless cellular communication with general session and dwell time distributions
Channel holding times and user mobility are important topics in the study of wireless cellular communications. We present an approach to modeling user mobility and session time which enables both the calculation of teletraffic performance characteristics and a characterization of holding time which agrees with published reports. The model allows both the dwell time and unencumbered session time...
متن کاملImproving Bandwidth-power Efficiency of Homogeneous Wireless Networks Using On-meet Threshold Strategy (RESEARCH NOTE)
Over two decades, a problem of location dependent has been focused for improving the communication Bandwidth-Power Efficiency of homogeneous networks. The efficiencies of communication links are weakened by the Hidden Terminal Problem. Thus we propose a Fine – Tune Strategy for analyzing the On-Off communication region. We were observed that the proposed technique had been able to track and mo...

Mobile ad hoc networks are networks composed of wireless devices to create a network with the ability for self-organization. These networks are designed as a new generation of computer networks to satisfy some specific requirements and with features different from wired networks. These networks have no fixed communication infrastructure and for communication with other nodes the intermediate no...
متن کاملAn integrated model of packetized VBR teletraffic source for cellular NG All-IP wireless networks
We propose the integrated model of a single packetized variable bit rate (VBR) teletraffic source for cellular next generation (NG) All-IP networks. The proposed model integrates two parts: the mobility model and the teletraffic model. The mobility model captures mobility behavior of a single user and is modeled by a Markov chain with finite state space. The teletraffic model captures teletraff...
